Takuhaibin - Japan's Delivery ServicesYamato Transport, commonly known as Kuroneko "Black Cat" in Japan due to its logo of a mother cat carrying her kitten in her mouth, is the largest door-to-door delivery service company in Japan. The company was founded in 1919 and basically started Takkyubin "TA-Q-BIN", service in 1976 as a home delivery system for small parcels.
Airport TA-Q-BIN is a great way to avoid hauling heavy luggage onto crowded trains and up and down stairways, whether you are going to a hotel, ryokan or your residence. Goods can be sent from hotel by inquiring at the hotel reception. Note that not all hotels accept deliveries due to lack of storage space. Make sure to contact the hotel before sending your luggage. You can find the counters of several takuhaibin delivery companies in the arrival lobbies of airports. TA-Q-BIN is a next day delivery service; however for short distances same-day deliveries may be possible, and for distant locations such as Okinawa or Hokkaido delivery can take two days. The cost depends on the type, size and weight of the package as well as the destination. Here you can check out the Yamato TA-Q-BIN Rates Table for the whole country. Desired drop-off dates and times can be specified. On request, TA-Q-BIN companies allow deliveries to be delayed for a few days "typically up to one week". TA-Q-BIN Related Links:
