Courtesy of Otsuka Masjid & Halal Japan - One important announcement- Baby formula "Chirumiru" (チルミル by Morinaga) which is being used by many Muslim parents for 9+ months old baby, have changed their ingredient recently.

They have included Haram Pork ingredient in their renewal/new version. One brother called to their company and they confirmed.

Please convey this message to other Muslim brothers also who have kids. May Allah forgive us and protect us from the haram.

All baby formula Haram listed in link gave above 2 days ago we confirm from factory they use pork and beef ingredients in formula

We call morinaga and they said they use some pork enzyme in ingredients
Morinaga e akachan
Dry milk hagukami
We also call yukijirushi and they use beef enzyme
Neo milk Lai
Neo milk tsuyoi-ko
Only wakodo from 9 month is halal

Finding milk with no pork ingredients is a big challenge in Japan. Some clearly state in the ingredients that pork elements are included like Meiji. Some don't and I contacted the following:
- Morinaga: Hagukumi, E-Akachan and Chirumiru contain ingredients with prok elements. I got upset because the pork was not written in their allergy 27 list elements. They said those pork elements are used to ease the digestion.
- Benstalk Sukoyaka: pork ingredients are not included BUT they buy some ingredients (vitamin E,...) from outside vendors and they cannot garrantee if they don't contain pork.
- Wakodo: No pork ingredients are used in Haihai and Gungun. But the guy on the phone said this is not halal certified. He also mentioned that some type of their formula milk contains beef ingredient.

Take the items on the list just as a reference. The ingredients are changed without notice. Read the the ingredients and if you are not sure contact the manufacturer's support center.
