100 Plus Prayer Rooms In Japan

Japan is a wonderful country with a rich and illustrious history.

​Although Japan's major focus has been on industrial innovation in the past, the goal now is to bring the cultural treasure that has been overlooked in the shadow of history to the attention of tourists from across the world, making them feel "This is what Japan is all about—I want to come back."

As part of its preparations for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Japan did actively prepare various facilities to welcome international guests from all over the world. One of them was prayer rooms at international airports.

In some places like Kansai International Airport even the space for male and female is separated so everyone can feel comfortable and solemnly pray. There is also some prayer equipment such as Qibla direction, prayer mat "sajadah", and veil "mukena" in the female room.

Muslim Prayer Rooms In Japan

The number of prayer rooms has been and is growing at a proper pace, so Muslim travelers can also explore new places without worrying about prayer times.

A few years ago, I wrote about 17 prayer rooms in Japan. Since then, setting up prayer rooms in public places like shopping centers and sightseeing areas has been followed by other business sectors, including museums, ryokans, hotels, and restaurants.
